Pallekele Stadium elevated my game. A must-visit for fans!
I had the opportunity to visit the stadium for the SL vs IND 2nd T20 cricket match and it was an incredible experience. The view from the stands was fantastic, providing a clear and close view of the action on the field.
Whether you’re a cricket enthusiast or simply looking to enjoy a high-quality sports venue, Pallekale International Cricket Stadium is definitely worth a visit.
The view is spectacular!
A drawback however is parking. Unless you’re lucky or early, a half a Km walk is on the cards! 😐
A proper Beer stall inside the premises would be a value addition for sure.
The well-maintained pitch is known for its balanced nature, fostering competitive play between bat and ball. However, the stadium faces challenges such as frequent weather interruptions due to Kandy’s unpredictable climate, accessibility issues for international visitors due to its remote location, and a relatively limited seating capacity of around 35,000, which can restrict spectator numbers for high-demand matches.
The atmosphere during the match was electric, with enthusiastic fans cheering for their teams. making the experience even more enjoyable. I also appreciated the accessibility options available for those with mobility issues.
